Daddy has Swine Flu

Well, we don't know if he really had swine flu or not, but wearing the mask seemed to keep Francis from getting the flu, though he did develop a horrible cough and cold about a week later.

Francis Starts Daycare

Here I am dropping Francis off at his first day in daycare. The daycare is only a five minute walk from home. There weren't any tears, but no one slept very well the night before.


He was there for two hours and managed to drink a bottle and take a little nap. Eladia, the owner said he seemed very comfortable. Tomorrow he goes up to three hours, then four, and then a whole day.

Francis' First Halloween

Francis dressed as Nicholas, the main character of his favorite book, I am a Bunny, which you can see him reading here. He didn't even seem to mind wearing the ears his mother crafted for him out of a hand-me down hat, his dad's socks, and some pieces of felt.


He also really enjoyed the Halloween card from his Grandma Jutta. No candy was eaten, but he did try carrots for the first time today and loved them. These pictures also show you how well he is able to sit up on his own.

Hannah's First B-day Party

It was a combo birthday for her friend Lilliana (in blue) and Lilliana's sister who was turning 6. Some of the activities were really geared more toward 6year old and the 2-3 year olds had kind of a hard time focusing. But they had a great time being silly and running around. Hannah's friends are sitting all together right to left: Adah, Hannah, Lilliana, and Ava.

These are Hannah's friend Vivian (left) and Adah (middle). Adah and Hannah are matches in the trouble maker department.
