How the Felt Was Made
Here are some pictures showing the origin of the felt that Sabine, Mutti, and I made. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of the actual felting process, but at least you can see what it looked like before and after.
Here's the wool after we laid it out, but before we added the decorations. It looks like a painting by Clifford Still.
It was hard to get the wool all the same thickness. Mutti and Sabine are working on it here.
This is the fun part. Laying down all of the different shapes, which were made of a combination of thinner pieces of wool, silk thread, and some fabric.


Here are two shots of the whole piece laid out.
And here's the final product with all four pieces together. I guess everyone's turning their pieces into wall hangings. We've got ours laid out on the back of our couch now. It would be nice to see pictures of what they look like now that we have them at home!
